501 chair

( design, fashion, uk )

Assa Ashuach’s 501 chair evolved from an early project, My Trousers, a pair of trousers with a built-in seat. The trousers function normally until the wearer sits down, at which point they lock in a seated position thanks to an incorporated light wooden structure.

This new way of sitting allows the user to relax their back from tension.

Wrapping fashion

( fashion, denmark )

The Flora Danica Dresses project explores shape and form in women’s Fashion over the past two centuries through 14 outfits. The material for this study in how the woman’s body has been wrapped and thereby also how it has been perceived is paper.

The first prototype is made in paper and is a genuine copy of a 1860 dress, referring to the same period where H.C Andersen himself created small dresses in chocolate paper.

See also RAIN™ , a collection of unisex rainwear made with wrapping materials to protect the happy wearer from the rain like a potato chip in a plastic bag.
