Counterpoint
Eva Stephenson-Möller has created Counterpoint for the library of the University College of Borås (Sweden).
This monumental textile curtain is made of five lengths of welded polyester-reinforced plastic that can be raised and lowered as required. The curtain is connected to a light metre that lowers the lengths one by one as soon as the amount of light exceeds a fixed value. On some days the curtain is not visible at all but on sunny days the facade is converted into a white surface with large dots of different colours that protect the students and the books in the library from direct sunlight.
